This past weekend my parents and sister came for a visit. We were so excited to have them come and had quite the list of activities on our agenda.
It was Elkford's Wildcat Days (not to be confused with the "High School Musical" Wildcats. Zac Efron was not here. Unfortunately.). On Friday, we had a bonfire for supper at our favorite little spot. That night were the fireworks - which were surprisingly good for our small lil' town. Saturday, we went to the pancake breakfast and parade. That afternoon, me, Jared, Carter, and my Dad all went on the mine tour at Jared's mine. It was really interesting. We got to go down into the pit and actually witness some of these bad boys at work.
There were some carnival games, climbing wall, a dunk tank, volleyball and softball tournaments, a craft and trade fair, etc so we kept busy that day. Sunday after church, we had dinner, all napped sporadically and then went for an evening drive. To add to it, we went quading and played games in the evenings. My parents left Monday morning for Raymond and Carly stayed here with us. We all went to Surveyors Lake on Monday to play at the beach and swim. It was 36 degrees so it was the perfect day for it. I pretty much forgot my camera at home all weekend, so I have no pictures though.
Tuesday morning, we left bright and early for Raymond for the Canada Day parade. Afterwards, we went to the annual Mendenhall Potluck, out at my aunts and uncle's farm.
After Raymond, we went to Lethbridge to go shopping with the Jarmans. Then we headed home. Through this:

It was a great week, with lots of fun things to do. And so nice to have my family here. We miss living so close to them!

Wow! Busy, busy! Sounds like a good time though (minus the flooding in Lethbridge).
FUN! So great to have family come and visit. Carter must think his Dad has the coolest job ever. I know my boys would think so. Happy belated Canada Day!
That does sound like fun! We missed the rainstorm in Lethbridge on our way back to Medicine Hat bya few hours, thank heavens. By the time we went thru, the sewer system had recovered. That was on freak storm, though!
I never did go on any mine tours while we lived so close. I guess we will just have to try and catch one next time we stop by there. Glad to see you are still enjoying your piece of mountianous heaven!
