Waterton

Yesterday the kids and I went to Waterton for the day to visit my parents who are camping there. It's been awhile since I've done a leisurely road trip with the kids. And for that matter, it's been awhile since we've been to Waterton.

We all went to Cameron Lake and did some fishing and a small hike with the kids.

I wanted a nice picture of the kids in front of the lake, and they pulled their typical crazy stance with the thumbs up pose. My Mom and I joined in, it was apparently the cool thing to do.

We were seeing lots of Wildlife there and of course, for my children that's not as much of a novelty considering where we live. The other tourists however, were snapping pictures, whispering quietly, ya know, generally trying to enjoy the wildlife without disturbing them in their natural habitat. And what were my children doing? Trying to scare the deer by yelling and clapping their hands, and I'm pretty sure one of them yelled something to the effect of "Watch where you're pooping, I'm trying to walk here!". I felt so bad for the tourists, wondering if maybe I should explain my childrens' behavior by announcing the fact that we've had our jack-o-lanterns eaten, garbage picked through, and lawn pooped on numerous times by these "beautiful creatures".

The day ended off with the kids running around the campsite while Grandpa shot nerf rockets at them. They could've done that for hours.

We had a fun day with the 'Rents and can't wait to see them again soon for the upcoming reunion.

Champion Lakes

This past weekend we went camping at Champion Lakes Provincial Park (near Trail) with the Kelowna Whiddens. The trip started off with Carter losing his first tooth, pretty exciting.

We did ALOT of fishing. I think almost everyone except Allie caught a fish, she's apparently cursed.

We also had axe throwing and slingshot competitions. So fun, but maybe you had to be there. I don't think I stopped giggling the entire weekend. Seriously.

The beach was great, weather was hot, and we swam alot... especially Hayley. She all of a sudden loves the water and we have a hard time convincing her to get out.

Ever tried throwing flour into a fire? Me neither, but it makes for crazy pictures:
There was a rope swing there too. Watching this video makes me laugh every single time. Jared will do anything for a laugh and Hayley eats it up.

This weekend proved that there really is nothing that comes even close to spending time with family. Thanks for a great camping trip guys!

I Swear...

...we get the BEST rainbows here.

Adventurama

Well we had a busy and fun week. Our road trip to Utah turned out to be a great trip, and we had so much fun visiting the Utah Whiddens. We went to a Water Park one day called Cowabunga Bay. It was crazy and so much fun.

After we came out of the Water Park, we found out this was the temperature:

Officially the hottest weather my kids have been in. Thank goodness for SPF 50, applied every hour!

We also went to this place called Inceredible Pizza. It has a huge buffet, go karts, laser tag, arcade games, bumper cars, etc.

We were there 6 days, full of swiming, shopping, visiting, restaraunts, movies, and fun! So I clearly didn't take enough pictures...
On our drive home, we stopped in Lethbridge for a couple hours to enjoy some Canada Day festivities. It was short-lived, we were anxious to get home.
We got home, unpacked and got ready for some more fun. This weekend was Wildcat Days in our little town. On Friday we had a bunch of friends over for a BBQ and to watch the Fireworks from our yard. The kids had so much fun playing outside and staying up late.
The rest of the weekend was spent watching the parade, at the kids Bouncy Houses, Family activities, Rock climbing wall, face painting, watching Volleyball and Baseball tournaments, pancake breakfasts, and eating shish-ka-bobs and poutine. The only bad part was the weather. We were doing most of this stuff in the rain.

Once again, not enough pictures of all the fun things we did. This year I put in alot of hours volunteering, so I guess I was just too busy to get out the camera. Oh well! It was a great week, and we were sad to see Jared go back to work this morning. Some how we need to become billionares so we can have endless family fun like this all the time...hmmm, something to work on :)
