Camping in Whitefish

A couple weekends ago we went camping in Whitefish, Montana. We stayed at the KOA, and tented it like pros!! I was worried we had gotten spoiled with our trailer and forgotten how to tent...it's alot more work, but it all came back like riding a bike :)

The campground had lots of cool amenities, like mini-golf:

We spent a day at Whitefish lake, swimming and suntanning:

There were these cool bumper boats for the kids, Carter loved em!

Jared and Hayley relaxing in the shade, it was SOOOO hot both days.

There was a little petting zoo, with ponies, donkeys, llamas, and bunnies. Carter and Hayley loved those bunnies, they were darling...

These little bikes were called Banana Peels, and in high demand around the campground. But we got our turn!

The swimming pool felt so nice since it was so hot. It was 36 or 37 degrees all weekend.

Wildcat Days!!

This past weekend was our town's annual Wildcat Days! We had a house full of company: our friends the Jarmans came from Okotoks, and the McKays came from Lethbridge. Friday night was the fireworks. We had a few of the younger kids fooled that these sparklers were the actual fireworks, and the older kids got to stay up late for the real ones.

Saturday was the parade and all the kids activities. All 7 kids were so excited for the parade and it didn't disappoint!

Scarlett waiting for the parade to start:
Isabelle, Hayley, Maren, and Bowie giving each other rocking chairs rides while waiting:
All the kids!

The rest of the day was spent at bouncy houses, kids activities, and the cotton candy stand :)

Sunday was Canada Day!! Jared's favorite holiday! We dressed in all our canada gear and headed down to the free family bbq at the swimming pool.

All weekend Hayley was dying to get her face painted by the clown, despite the long line averaging an hour wait time! I finally let her on Sunday while we all ate our burgers. She was ecstatic, and I think her happy smile afterwards made it all worth it.

Some cute little Canadians in my humble opinion!!

We had a great weekend with great friends! Can't wait to see these lovely people again soon.

Koocanus-aaaaaaah :)

Last weekend we went back to our favorite camping spot in the states on Lake Koocanusa with some friends. The weather was sooo hot...but the water was cold. Still went swimming though!

This next picture cracks me up! We were throwing the ball in the water for the dogs to fetch and Jared jumped in and beat them to it. Which is a feat...those dogs are quick (and determined) swimmers.

It was hot and humid the entire weekend, so we ended up having a crazy rain shower for about 20 minutes. Perfect time to play Memory in the trailer with the kiddos.

Yuup the kids found a mud puddle. Every time.

These kids are sure lucky I leave my "inner clean freak" at home when we go camping!

Sitting by the fire, with some beautiful scenery...can't get any better than that!

Haha I made Dutchy pose for a picture in front of the lake. Not sure why he looks so dang sad, camping is his most favorite thing to do!

Mmmmm watermelon
