Oh Hayley

Yesterday on the way to Disneyland, Hayley was arguing and Carter goes, "Hayley, you need to be nice because we're going to see Mickey Mouse, and he only likes to see good kids."

Hayley disagrees and starts arguing again.

Jared steps in and says, "Hayley it's true. Mickey really likes it when kids are nice, polite, and they share and cooperate..."

Hayley paused for a second and then asked,
"What about Pluto? He like bad kids?"

Then today, we saw Mickey Mouse and he gave Hayley a big kiss on the head. Afterwards, an elated Hayley goes, "Mom! Mickey gave me a kiss.... WE MUST BE FRIENDS!"

PS - We're having fun.

This Kid...

...loves doing stuff outside - camping, playing sports, helping Daddy in the garage, sledding, quading, raking leaves, shoveling snow - you name it.

...is crazy about family movie nights.

... is a genuinely good kid. He tries so hard to do anything he knows would make us happy, and gets joy out of doing the right things.

... loves to dress up.

...is sensitive. He is very aware of others feelings, and quickly picks up on any tension/stress/sadness.

...cracks me up. He comes up with funny little jokes, tells them to the rest of us, and then laughs the hardest out of anyone.

...learns things so fast. I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up once he actually starts school.

...is my little helper. He asks daily if we can bake cookies together.

...is an awesome big brother and includes Hayley in everything he does. They really are great little friends.

...is a PACK RAT! Cleaning his room is so funny; it usually has me in fits of giggles by the end. I find things like: a piece of construction paper cut up into tiny bits, inside a box that is taped shut with electrical tape. Or all of Hayley's socks stuffed inside the Mr. Potato Head, hiding in the heating vent. Or a paper clip, a bouncy ball, and my wedding rings all inside a sock that is tied in a knot. You get the idea. SO weird, yet hilarious.

...just turned 5 today. Happy Birthday to my favorite little guy.

The D Word

In just a few short days, we will be heading to The Happiest Place on Earth. That's right; Disneyland!

Wanna know the best part? My kids have NO IDEA yet. They are going to flip when we tell them.

But until then...shhhh!
