Last night the kids and I carved a pumpkin, mostly to occupy our time because Jared's gone. We carved a batman pumpkin - at Carter's request - and now he wants to go back to the store and get more pumpkins to carve Superman, Spiderman, Ninja Turtles, etc. Hayley, our little daredevil, loved squishing the pumpkin innards between her fingers. Carter, on the other hand, pointer-finger-touched the gooey stuff after much persuasion, then immediately washed his hands and sat back to just watch us gut it. So Typical.

Jared is in Vancouver right now for work. Their company's lawyer is also the lawyer for the Canucks so Jared gets to go to the Canucks game this Saturday. And sit in the box. With the General Manager of the Canucks. He's a tad excited.
I just hope he doesn't cheat on me with Ryan Kesler. Knowing Jared and his unnatural love of the Canucks, it could happen.
Kidding :)
Holy Pumpkin, Batman

Paigie's EXACT words:
Ahhhh! Carter looks so strong!
Awesome pumpkin! It reminded me of the great big lion for Livy's first Halloween. I should see if I can find a picture. It's been awhile since I got that elaborate. Lately it's triangle eyes and a grinning mouth. Epitome of lazy pumpkin carving!
Have fun being a "Vancouver widow" this weekend. I feel your pain! (Also on the whole sports thing too!)
So funny how different the two kids are. Neither of my boys wanted to help with the cleaning out either. The picture of the two of them looking in is so cute.
Yes, the unatural love is a bit strange between the 2 eldest boys and the Canucks. I hope Jared wore some kind of adult depends, just in case the excitement does not get the best of him.......;)
I'm with Carter. The insides of pumpkins are gross.
Sounds like Jared is in heaven.
Love the bat! And your kids are so adorable. Oh and the Brit & KFed costumes....AMAZING!
Jules - if I tried to carve a pumpkin in the shape of bateman it would not look like that. Again I will say it you are my most talented friend by far :)
hahahaha I put Bateman which is my maiden name instead of Batman!! I can't even spell let alone do it.
I want to see a picture of that preference pumpkin. I refuse to believe that you could fit ALL those words on a pumpkin. No wonder it took you so long!!! Holy crap! Love the Batman! Looks so great!
Well I guess after your little deer visitor you may have to do that spiderman and superman so Carter isn't so tramatized about pumpkins.
I had a good laugh over the hockey comments. I can just imagine how happy Rob would be to be in Jared's shoes, and he isn't even a canucks fan! I bet Jared is pretty pumped!! Too funny about the guts story, the boy afraid to touch, and the girl all gung-ho. Hope you enjoy your Halloween!
