Today Carter asked Jared if he wanted to have a pillow fight. Jared said "No, I don't really want to. Go ask Mom if she wants to".
So Carter finds me and asks if I want to have a pillow fight. I politely declined and he went back upstairs, pouting.
Jared asked, "Did Mom want to have a pillow fight with you?"
"No", Carter replied dejectedly, "And that was my perfect idea!"
His next idea was to get one of us to play marbles with him. He asked Jared - no luck. Then they both came downstairs so Carter could ask me.
I said, "Well, I don't think we can play marbles because we all need to go have a nap since we're all so sick" (hoping the "everyone's doing it" argument will convince him).
"I have an idea!" Carter said, "How about you guys go have a nap and I'll play marbles!"
Done.
Poor kid just can't catch a break
